CHATHAM, Mass. - University of Louisville junior All-American Chris Dominguez has been named to the 2008 Cape Cod All-League Team, while sophomore Phil Wunderlich earned All-League honors at first base in the Central Illinois Collegiate League.

Dominguez is the only third baseman on the CCL squad after leading the league in home runs with 10 as a member of the Hyannis Mets.

The 2008 BIG EAST Co-Player of the Year and championship MVP, batted .262 with a team leading 11 doubles and 31 RBI which was third in the Cape. His 22 extra base hits was also tops in the most prestigious summer baseball wood bat league.

Dominguez joined former AL MVP Frank Thomas as the only two players in Cape Cod League history to hit three home runs in a single game with a wood bat when he belted three round trippers against Falmouth on July 9, helping to earn Dominguez a starting spot in the Cape Cod All-Star game.

Wunderlich finished the season with the DuPage Dragons batting .272 with 10 doubles, two home runs and a team-high 22 RBI while posting a .380 on base percentage on his way to an All-Star selection.

He lead the CICL to a 7-6 win over the Kentucky-Illinois-Tennessee League, going 3 for 3 at the plate with a double, home run and three RBI in the KIT-CICL All-Star Game at League Stadium. He batted third and started at first base and plated the winning run on a sacrifice fly.

Wunderlich started 35 games for the BIG EAST Champion Cardinals in 2008 and saw action in 52, batting .265 with 10 doubles, a home run and 20 RBI in his freshman season.

The Cardinals begin classes on Monday and shortly thereafter will begin fall practice.
